At Hope Christian Fellowship, we believe strongly in the preparation of leaders for the work of making disciples through building relationships. To accomplish this preparation, we have created a detailed Leadership Process by which we ensure all leaders are prepared, equipped, trained, and submitted to the requirements the Lord has called Hope to hold our leaders accountable to. Below is a detailed list of requirements and steps in the Leadership Process.
Beyond the initial levels of leadership involvement, we in addition require leaders participating in higher levels of leadership to complete further levels of requirement.
LEVEL 2 – Leader Heading a Ministry
Deacon, Ministry Head
- Must have attended HCF a minimum of 1 year
- Must have fulfilled Level 0 and Level 1 requirements
- Must attend the Small Group Leader Training Sessions
- Must regularly attend Leadership Team Meetings
- Must have functioned as an Assistant Home Group Leader (unless otherwise approved)
- Must be approved by the HCF Board of Elders
- Must regularly attend Leadership Team meetings
- Must have an active accountability/mentoring relationship(s)
- Must have completed MAKE US ONE: Essentials, submit test to office
- Must have completed MAKE US ONE: Personals, submit test to office
- Must have completed DISCOVERY SERIES: Make Disciples, submit test to office
- Must have completed HEART OF A LEADER, submit test to office
- Must have read LOVE, ACCEPTANCE & FORGIVENESS
- Commitment to complete remaining MAKE US ONE SERIES within a 2-year period, tests submitted to office
- Commitment to complete remaining DISCOVERY SERIES within a 3-year period, tests submitted to office
- Must complete ministry-specific training, if required (e.g. Small Group leader training, Worship team specifics, etc.)
LEVEL 3 – Leader who is a Five-Fold Ordained Minister or Elder
- Must have attended HCF a minimum of 3 years
- Must have completed all Level 0, 1, & 2 requirements
- Must regularly attend Leadership Team Meetings
- Continue active accountability/mentoring relationship(s)
- Complete ministry-specific training (if required)
